Test 2 result....i get going big time else......i would nothing but the biggest joke for everyone and particularly in my eyes

got a score of 13
was not prepared at all..gave up the preparation 1 day before the test
signs of things to come??? 'to much syllabyus...no idea what to study and what to leave' therefore utter confusion and directionless ultimately culminating into "FAILURE"
Therefore,dont leave anything for tomorrow....because contrary to  the popular saying " Tomorrow Never Dies"..... One tomorrow(20 May) WILL COME and see me unprepared and i will have no one but myself to blame.

that shocking feeling

Got the result today,to say the least i am dejected
got 448 out of some 3500
The 30 minutes debacle overshadowed my performance. 15 simple sitters were wrongly marked for eg . i knew that easter islands are on the western coast of S AMerica in Southern Hemisphere , but the question was asked as to which part of Pacific..ofcourse if it is west SA it has to be east pacific....but in the hurry to finish the paper in 1.5 hrs i marked it as west pacific :(
adjusting for 15 sitters like this my estimated rank is around 60, but thats like building castles in air because my result is what i am ,not what i could have done correctly.

On the positive side, I should learn from this test and not repeat such mistakes in future . good news is that now i can sleep before the night of the exam.
next test is History.
well really only 2 days to go...wont be able to complete the syllabus,,,this waiting for the result  has sucked in the time that was available to me [perhaps another learning at the macro level]

Here i come History and General Science.

1) History and science test on 25 , basically 6 more days to go.
2) Pub ad is suffering,,,,again i see myself going into the prelims mode,perhaps the best thing for pub ad would be to go with classes on a daily basis as the classes will be there for 2 more months.
3) Again , not a single answer written yet....common dude....JUST DO IT!!
4) coming back to History and Science,,,,I am finalising the strategy

First Shocker...

Just discovered the mock test that i finished in 1.5 hrs leaving around 15 questions which i could have  answered with a little more thought , was of 2 HOURS....:(
Damn It....

Test 1 is done

Yet to check the answers.
But overall attempted around 100 questions out of 150
Polity :Some questions were tricky where in some extra detail was asked in addition to the well known facts
Geography was relatively easy with lot of direct questions.
My estimate :
Attempted Questions :- 100
Approx Wrong Questions :- 15-20
Therefore Net score: 74
As per the standard  this is just the passing percentage as far as the UPSC is concerned.

December the 9th

Well going to the bed with a sense of satisfaction of having put in extra today...its 7 am now.
Still thinking if should attend the History lecture which i feel is a story telling exercise and is better self studied.
planning to get up at 11 am and finish off the FRs and Geography part today along with the NPM of Pub Adm
Test is approaching.......8 days to go.....hurryyyyyyy.......

Macro Perpsective:-

1.    Prelims in  May

2.    Time left :- 5 months

3.    GS :-

a.     Should start exclusive preparation(75% time) of Prelims from 15 January

b.    That means only one month or so left for finishing Pub Ad(Its unrealistic, I know…need to plan out something but the classes will go till April L)

                                                   i.     Therefore even if I go with classes nothing more nothing less I should be able to wind up pub ad.

4.    Optionals:-

a.     Pub Ad

                                                   i.     Classes to go till March/April

                                                 ii.     Both part 1 and part II going hand in hand

                                               iii.     Should try to acclimatise with the entire syllabus else….what will I do in mains

                                               iv.      

b.    Psychology:-

                                                   i.     Well these 10 letters is all I know about it (Psycholgy)

                                                 ii.     No time absolutely for it now(hate to say this…did I waste all the time so far…??)

                                               iii.     Will do it in the time between mains and prelims(God knows what will happen)

Just as I finished creating this blog and was thinking of a suitable title for my first post, I got startled by the peculiar sound of water droplets outside my room . I went out and discovered that it was raining... Alas!!,I feel blessed to have enjoyed  the first showers of this winter,brief enough ,as if it was exclusively for me...;).
Yes, it’s a message from the almighty that this journey will be a happier one, that I will succeed in my efforts to become an IAS officer.
